Grants

The Community Foundation is one member of a larger family of grantmaking organizations in Tompkins County. Our long-term endowment and other charitable resources are used for the ongoing benefit of the whole community. The Foundation spreads its resources across the whole county to address emerging concerns and unresolved problems.

Our partners in philanthropy include The United Way, which primarily funds operating expenses for ongoing programs or projects specifically to the Health and Human Services, and local private foundations that represent resources from specific individuals and families. The Community Foundation serves as a repository for permanent gifts, no matter how great or small, from all who have lived or worked in — and care about — Tompkins County.
